Tolis's story begins with his solid educational background. He graduated with a Diploma in Civil Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens with Structural Engineering specialty, a cornerstone for his future endeavors. Furthering his expertise, he obtained an MSc in Construction Engineering and Project Management from the University of Texas at Austin, where he conducted a thesis in the worldwide Cost Estimating Software Market and defining a Methodology for selecting a suitable Estimating platform. These academic pursuits laid the groundwork for a career defined by innovation and excellence.
From Global Experience to Entrepreneurial Triumph
Tolis's professional path is as diverse as it is impressive. He honed his skills with international giants like Balfour Beatty and J&P, gaining invaluable global exposure. His leadership skills shone brightly as he led a construction SME, successfully delivering projects across various sectors.

In 2007, Tolis co-founded Nomitech, a decision that marked a new era in cost estimating and BIM software. Under his guidance, Nomitech developed CostOS, an advanced Estimating Enterprise Application, and made significant strides in BIM, Parametric Estimating Approaches and big data, also leveraging AI and Machine Learning to revolutionize the construction industry.

Tolis is not just a business leader; he is a thought leader. As President of the AACE in Greece and Cyprus, and a member of the ICMS Standard Setting Committee, he plays a pivotal role in shaping global standards in cost and carbon reporting. His contributions to the AACE's Recommended Practice for the Nuclear Sector underscore his expertise and commitment to industry advancements. Tolis has also written many publications, sharing groundbreaking insights and best practices instrumental in advancing cost engineering and project management.
